Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Where can I find more financial tickers?

RatioPlotter.eu supports most standard financial tickers. You can search for ticker symbols on our Ticker Selector Page Simply copy the tickers and then directly use them in our tools! Explanations about ticker prefixes, projections and sourcing can be found at the bottom of the plotter tool pages.

How do I use a specific tool?

All tools on RatioPlotter.eu have detailed instructions and functional explanations located directly below the chart on their respective pages. Simply click on a tool in the navigation bar and scroll down to read the guide.

Is the charting data accurate?

We utilize high-quality, split and dividend adjusted data (although there is an option for using close prices and split ajusted only) and account for market holidays to ensure the highest possible chart accuracy. However, as with all financial data feeds, we cannot completely guarantee the absence of third-party data anomalies.

Are the tools free to use?

Yes! RatioPlotter.eu is mostly free to use, but due to the computing costs associated with our more complicated tools such as the overlay plotter, equation plotter and correlation matrix the free tier is currently limited. Also some functions such as LAG() are limited. But know that we are actively working on making the free tier as extensive as we can! You can help make more tools free on our site by donating, subscribing to our premium tiers and turning off your Adblocker! If you have any suggestions for free overlay, correlation or equation plots let us know below and we will try to make your suggestion free for all!

Can I request a new feature or chart type?

Absolutely. We are always looking to improve our toolset for the community. Feel free to check our Upcoming Charts page or contact us with your suggestions.

If you have suggestions for an extra free plot for our limited free tier tools such as the equation plotter tell us your suggestion via email and why you think it should be free for all to use and we might add it to the site!

Why is my plot stating some last dates in the past, but plotting data until today?

This is typical for instance when plotting against FED data which ends in the past, but is prolongued to today to allow ratios with prices up to today. For instance, if you plot Park Hotels against the FED-WPU53, the FED-WPU53, which is the "Producer Price Index by Commodity: Accommodation Services" will end in the past. If we would cut the last date on the chart using the FED data, we would miss plotting many ticker prices for Park Hotels. We therefore foward fill the FED data series by copying the last value flat. You get a plot line until today, but at the bottom of the chart (Last dates label) you see one of the tickers end its data ealier..
